Everybody walked the 1/2 mile from our excellent hotel to the historic city center, some independently & others as a large group. We then all explored the one-time island, walking to the church of St. Ephemia (& some getting to visit inside) & browsing the galleries & stores in the surrounding streets.
We all gathered again late morning & rejoined our driver Oliver for the drive from Rovinj to Zagreb.
Along the way we stopped in the Austrian resort of Opatija, located on the Kvarner Gulf, for lunch. Though it was cool & damp again everyone seemed to enjoy the stop in this very-different-feeling town.
We arrived in Zagreb late afternoon & checked into the grand Hotel Esplanade for our final two nights in Croatia.
Dinner this evening, moved to avoid a potential longer walk in the rain, was at the atmospheric 'Vinodol' restaurant, dining under brick arches. A great end to another great day.
